How can I apply for a Visa?
What is an ETA? Who is eligible to to apply for a Visa? What should I do if I'm not a Qualifying National and won't be able to apply for a Visa? How much do you charge for a Visitor ETA? How long is my Visitor ETA visa valid for? What method of payment do you accept? Do I need to send my Passport when applying for a Visitor ETA visa? How long will it take for my application to be approved? How will I know when my application has been approved? What happens if my application is turned down? All visas are issued as an 'ETA' which is an Electronic Travel Authority, and is a 'paperless' authority for travel to Australia. It replaces the visa label or stamp in a passport. An ETA removes the need for application forms and enables passengers to be processed more quickly on arrival in Australia.
Your Visitor ETA visa is a short term visa will only allow you to stay in Australia for a maximum duration of three months, but is valid for one year from your date of application, or until your passport expiry date - whichever is sooner.
When you apply for a Visitor ETA you can either pay by Visa, Mastercard, cheque or cash by phone, fax or by post.
DO NOT send your passport! We can't be responsible for its loss. Completing your application accurately, and making the correct payment is all that's required.
Providing you qualify, usually within seconds from the time we process your application. Although most applications are processed within 24 hours of receiving your data from Monday to Saturday, applications received after office hours and on Sundays are processed the next working day.
As soon as your application has been approved we'll email you. Providing you are flying on an 'approved' airline, your visa details will automatically be logged into the airline's computer prior to boarding. Your 'paperless' visa will automatically allow you entry into Australia upon arrival.
All visa applications are subject to the approval by the Australian Government of Immigration, and is based on accurate information provided by the applicant. In the unlikely event your application is rejected, regretfully VISA FIRST cannot refund your application fee. It is therefore advisable that you DO NOT finalise your airline booking or travel arrangements until your visa is approved.
